What Is The Difference Between The Great Gatsby Book And Movie

The Great Gatsby was a very interesting book which was portrayed very well in two different films of their own league. The first film we had watched was by Baz Luhrmann which portrayed Gatsby in his designated time while the homage by Woody Allen basically did a present day version of Gatsby but his name is Gil. Gil and Gatsby are very different but alike in ways, which makes the movies very interesting. While Gil was an American man In London who had a fiancé and was writing a book he also felt very out of his own time which lead him to a whole other centaury. While on this journey he finds this woman named Adriana who was in the 1920’s. While with her, he began to meet many other writers that he looked had looked up to almost like a kid in a candy factory. Something different happened for Gatsby, in his story he was an extremely wealthy man that threw the biggest, most lustrous parties, but no one knew exactly who he was. The difference in the characters is so interesting because we have a person named Gil who is like a mix of Gatsby and Nick do to the factoring of his traits and the way he acts in the movie. Unlike the Gatsby from the book as well as movie Gil is not rich and his “Daisy” is a woman named Inez who it turns he is already engaged to. Just like Daisy, Inez is cheating on her (soon to be) husband without even caring. It’s a scene which doesn’t surprise you because you can guess what’s going on by her actions and the way she acts around the man and how she seems to always be alone with him. He is also her ex-boyfriend which means there is this tension there, Gil’s character is so oblivious to what is going on around him much like Tom is when it comes to Gatsby and Daisy being around each other so much and how they seem to disappear at the same time at Gatsby’s
