rch 2017 Over this year, we have read multiple books, but not many have really caught my eye. However, The Great Gatsby was a masterpiece. F. Scott Fitzgerald, created a book that depicts the separate statuses of people and is still relevant to this day. Also, it was an interesting way of developing the story because it was told in the point of view of an older Nick Carraway. The twist at the end that showed Gatsby being killed by George Wilson was brutal and unexpected. The novel also demonstrated the harsh truth of reality that even though you may have thrown many parties, people won’t necessarily actually care about you. Not many people actually went to Jay Gatsby’s funeral even though every weekend he would throw a party for the ages. …show more content…
He is very charismatic, and charming. He is also a very good individual, that seems like the normal guy, such as Nick Carraway, could admire. DiCaprio has the rich looking, very fortunate, look down, and it’s something not many people could display. He was exactly what I pictured when I was reading the book. I was expecting a tall, lean, handsome man, that could show extraordinary skill in being charming. Also in the 2013 film, he proved to be the greatest actor to portray Gatsby. Nick Carraway, a brilliant individual, that needs to have a young face. I chose Ryan Gosling. His incredible performance in multiple other films could prove that he has a wide range for acting. From La La Land, a musical to Drive, an action thriller is unbelieveable. I pictured Nick Carraway to have a clean and not scruffy look, so a clean shaved Ryan Gosling could show to be a very important choice to the film. Also, the film needed a good looking man for Nick Carraway, and many would consider Gosling the epitome of …show more content…
At times he could be frightening but he knows when to pick his battles. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is the best person for Tom. He has shown many roles he could play, such as being on Supernatural, a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy, and Negan, the frightening villain, in AMC’s The Walking Dead. He is big and muscular, and also charismatic. Anybody, that has watched The Walking Dead could tell you that he is the most menacing villain in the show. He not only creates fear in being a tough brute, but also because he is able to whittle down people by slowly breaking into their minds and thought process. He could prove to be a masterful actor in this

Randle McMurphy................. Leonardo DiCaprio DiCaprio is known for his outrageous roles that portray characters with a great deal of emotion in films, such as the Great Gatsby and The Wolf on Wall Street. In the scene where he is on the island is where the acting especially affected the movie, because if you have never been on an island by yourself you don’t know how to act that scene. Tom Hank totally improvised and he really did act like he was on an island by himself. When Tom Hanks was on the island it was totally believable that he was going crazy and that he was desperate to get out of the island. I think that in the kissing scenes were the ineffective acting scenes of the movie, because all you had to do was kiss someone and there's no real acting to that. I think anyone can do a kissing scene for any movie.…

The1974 movie has strengths and weaknesses when comparing it to the book as does the 2013 version. Analyzing each movie and closely examining its connection to the book took some time. Finally the 1974 movie is a more noteworthy adaptation of the book then the 2013, in that this version was better at keeping the essence of the characters and conveying F. In an era muddled with reform, Post War veterans, and the search for the American Dream, the 1920’s were a critical point for all. Possibly the most critical for F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, authors driven by their lost hopes and dreams, of whose literature is still studied today to understand the adversities and bewilderment of the past. Their novels, The Great Gatsby and The Sun Also Rises both explore the motif of achieving this American Dream throughout the representation of superficial women. Women in both novels portray their changing role in society whilst in relationships with men whom they easily manipulate and establish that they are not able to love genuinely. Submerged with the idea that Daisy Buchannan, a woman of…

He made Forrest gump into a much softer character than in the book. The author of the book wanted to show that a harsh, stupid man was a better guide through the hard times of America, but Zemeckis wanted to reveal that American issues could be seen in a child-like mind, a nicer view (Wilmington 1). This excellent twist on the original take was enough to take this story to the next level. Tom Hanks ability to adapt himself into the role of this dumb man is phenomenal. Changing the tone, speed, and purpose of ones talking is a difficult task, but Hanks strikes again in his role as Forrest Gump.…
