The great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is tragic love story, a mystery, and a social interpretation on American life. He designed two over empowering people. They’re two very different people who are engaged in a life together. Despite there obvious differences, Tom and Daisy are actually a perfect match. Both characters, flaws are what keep the relationship between one another on going.
F. Scott Fitzgerald created the character Tom as a very dominant man. He grasps attention through his unruly, opinionated and racist behavior. He has no morals for himself or others. He is disloyal and dishonest to his wife Daisy. He has no regret cheating on his wife and also ignoring his child. Daisy is a delicate, petite, beautiful woman. Her outside appearances are deceiving due to her disloyal and dishonest attributes. He daily lifestyle is philandering with other men and pretty much doing nothing. She betrays her daughter and also her Husband Tom. She’s lowkey, sneaky, and a liar. Daisy centers her world on social status, materialism and possessions. “Money over everything” would be the motto in her world. Wealth is very important to Daisy. Daisy originally chooses Tom over Gatsby because of his prosperity, and even when Gatsby gets the wealth he lacked during their connection, she is unable to leave Tom because the “Buchanan” name is too cherished, even though, Gatsby's own wealth amazes her as seen when she saw his enormous collection of shirts. As her name may represent innocence, purity and beauty. Daisy carries those traits throughout her personality, but sooner or later shows her true colors.
