Comparing The Great Gatsby book to the film. The book gets the general point across of a good story. Meanwhile the film give a more sensational familiarized view across creating more of a setting and depth than the book provides. An Example of this would be Gatsby's first party where nick was the only one that received an invitation to. I think that the 2013 movie The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann is a good representation of the book The Great Gatsby written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The Great Gatsby is a story told by the main character and narrator Nick Carraway, who had moved from the Midwest to West Egg, Long Island to be a bonds salesman and tells about his time meeting Jay Gatsby. I think that the movie and the book are very similar and have almost identical scenes with little differences and to show this I’ve picked the three scenes from the book as examples.…

The 2013 adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic book The Great Gatsby and Woody Allen’s 2011 homage in A Midnight in Paris both were very effective in their representations of the book. They were however, effective in different ways. Baz Luhrmann chose excellent actors that played the parts very well and chose the most important scenes of the book to be depicted in the movie. In his time there, he wrote The Great Gatsby, a novel considered by many to be his finest work ever. The book was well received when published in 1925, however it was only until the 50s and 60s that the book was portrayed as one of the greatest American novels ever written. F. In comparison of the two texts, the novella has its focus more on the American Dream, society and class, which describes the story in a wider range compared to the film which gives a pessimistic tone as the reality reveals in society that the American Dream is unachievable. The film emphasizes on the romantic side of the character’s relationship in the story and creates a sympathetic tone. The audience are able to see Gatsby’s struggles within his effort to have Daisy back in his life and allows them to feel disappointed at the end as Gatsby fails to reach his dream. The audience can get more emotional when they watch a movie since it’s expressed with real life visuals as they view it in a more realistic way and the usage of relative visuals and audios may also stir their…

The Greater Great Gatsby The book the Great Gatsby has been depicted by lots of films, but the two that stand out the most are the 1974 and the 2013 versions. The1974 movie has strengths and weaknesses when comparing it to the book as does the 2013 version. Analyzing each movie and closely examining its connection to the book took some time. Finally the 1974 movie is a more noteworthy adaptation of the book then the 2013, in that this version was better at keeping the essence of the characters and conveying F. The Great Gatsby, although published nearly a century ago, continues to stay relevant in today’s society, and will likely continue for many years to come. It’s a timeless piece portraying themes of materialism, wealth, class, and love and loss in superficial relationships. In the roaring twenties, people are cheerful because of the end of WW1. The great Gatsby My thesis statement is that F Scott FitzGerald main theme for the great Gatsby was the American dream. He had this idea that any person, no matter what you look like or who you are, you can become successful in life if you work hard at it. Gatsby on the other hand was based on this entire theme evolving around him. Gatsby and Fitzgerald both pursed this dream by going to a lonely farmer to selling drug and illegal alcohol for money to become rich. Fitzgerald on the other hand, he made practice with his writing until he started making book which became best sellers.…

Neither he nor Daisy is satisfied with their marriage, but it is what is expected of them, so they continue to endure it. On the contrary, many of Gatsby’s characteristics conflict with each other. He is proud, yet he is self conscious; he is wealthy, yet he desires acceptance; he is lonely, yet he is surrounded by people. However, readers are certain of one sentiment throughout the novel: Gatsby is in love with Daisy. Most concerning, the actions that Gatsby commits in his journey to recapture Daisy’s heart.…

The major conflict that takes place throughout The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is Mr. Gatsby himself trying to win over the love of his life Daisy Buchanan, even though she is married herself and he lets nothing get in his way of that. To start off, Gatsby buys an extremely lavish mansion in West Egg, that is directly located across the bay of Daisy 's home, in East Egg. While Nick himself lives next door to Gatsby, once he arrives back into town for the summer, he goes to East Egg to visit his cousin Daisy and meets her friend Jordan Baker. Jordan remarks that Nick must know Gatsby, while Daisy states, “Gatsby, what Gatsby?” (Fitzgerald 11).…
