“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. While was on the “crimson” carpet, he watched Daisy with fascinated eyes. It shows that he loves Daisy and the way he looks at her is with “fascinated” eyes, he’s passionate about her. “A tall, red haired young lady from a famous chorus, engaged in song. She had drunk a quantity of hapage and during the course of her song she has decided ineptly that everything was very very sad- she was not only singing, she was weeping too” (fitzgerald 56). The quote is giving Gatsby that danger is to come and that he’s not going to be very happy.
