For the past five years he throws ostentatious parties in anticipation that Daisy will attend one them. At the parties, he hopes that someone will know daisy so he can reconnect with her. His new neighbor Nick turns out to be Daisy second cousin. Nick being the kind person he is will, “invite her over here for tea” which leads to Gatsby finally meeting daisy. (Fitzgerald 82).
