Imagine the softest stuffed animal you have, and then imagine it being hand-sewn my the sweetest woman in your life, your grandmother. Back when I was 3 years old, my grandmother, Eleanor, sewed me a snowman and gave it to me as a Christmas present. When I opened the present, I immediately saw the pure white fabric, a bright orange nose, and two black buttons as eyes. Quickly after unwrapping the present, the snowman and I, whom I named Eugene, quickly became best friends. Waking up every morning and seeing a snowman that is falling apart always put a smile on my face, especially in times of loneliness. When I was packing for school, I was contemplating whether or not to bring Eugene with me. Ultimately, I decided to take him with me, that way I always have someone looking over me. Ever since she gave me Eugene, I never felt alone. He was especially useful when I first moved into my dorm and my parents left as I really had no friends. He was an amazing source of comfort for me since I was so far away from home and I missed my parents beyond belief. Without Eugene, just a piece of fabric, some stuffing, and one button eye, he is something that I will never get rid of. He is a stuffed animal that has gotten me through so much of my life. Eugene is not just a stuffed animal, he is a source of joy, comfort, and happiness.
