Humans change a lot especially when affected by certain events happening to them or around them. They start off with one view-point or state of mind and then have that same state of mind or view-point completely thrown away. Who people surround themselves with reflect their personality,decisions, and mindset. “Who you choose to be around lets you know you are.” This is a quote from Han from Fast And Furious Tokyo Drift, in the movie Han has moved to Tokyo after leaving America. He experienced a lot of change and different people around him. Which caused him to change a lot. He saw lot of different things that affect him during this time. Nick’ s view-points,and morals completely change throughout the book, this is due to all that happens to him and around him whether he likes it or not definitely was a different person after that summer.We as people all have our own views and morals, those can easily be changed by surrounding events and other people.
Nick at the beginning of the book was excited to be in New York and start life there. As the book continued he wanted more and more to leave. His views of New York had changed and he eventually moved back out east. "Instead of being the warm center of the world the middle-west now seemed like the ragged edge of the universe--so I decided to go east and learn the bond business."(pg.3)Nick wants to move away from the Midwest and go out east to New York so he can begin a new life there. At the beginning Nick wanted to leave the Midwest and go to New York. To him after the War the Midwest had nothing for him. At this point his view of New York was he was excited to be moving there and starting new. It was a place of excitement and opportunity for him. Nick views them in a much different light after Gatsby’s death. "They were careless people,Tom and Daisy, they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together and let other people clean up the mess they had made." Nick 's views of Tom and Daisy drastically changed after Gatsby was killed by Georgie Wilson. It was Tom and Daisy 's fault for it because Tom told Wilson it was Gatsby 's car which hit Myrtle but Daisy was the one driving the car not Gatsby. Which led to Wilson to believe it was Gatsby who ran over Myrtle so then he proceeded to kill Gatsby and himself. After this Tom and Daisy and their baby decided to run away and act like nothing ever happened. This completely changed Nick’s views on Tom and Daisy. Their true colors came out to Nick they were selfish,careless, and did not take responsibility for what they did. This intensely affected Nick’s views on Tom and Daisy and the wealthy and high class parts of society. Nick was not judgemental At all at the beginning of the book he followed his father’s advice of having no judgement towards but as the book continues he changed and started to judge others such as Tom and Daisy, Gatsby, and Jordan. Nick was never judgemental he received some very important advice from his father which shaped a lot of his morals.In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that
