My initiative in life is to become a pediatrician and aid kids who struggle in their lives. The fantasy is set into motion because I enrolled and succeed in high-level classes, but in order to stand out to the employer, it is almost a necessity to propel the limits of myself which requires perfection. Perfection is impossible, so it creates the feeling of disappointment and letdown when they fall short Since perfection is a necessity, It almost requires anyone who craves success in life to go to college; the American dream has become harder and harder to achieve for young people because they demand more in their lives, unlike generations before us. My American Dream is similar to Gatsby because we both want wealth and prosperity but find it troublesome to envision. When Gatsby lied in bed, “his heart was in a turbulent riot”(Fitzgerald 105). The new generation lived the American dream and are now searching for something impish and unrealistic to most standards. The American should not be easy to obtain but nowadays it has become almost impossible to achieve. It has warped and changed from a once pure prospect. In “ The Great Gatsby,” the main character, Jay Gatsby, struggles to make his dream into a reality after being birthed into a poor family. Through relentless hope, he achieved his goals of being wealthy. Gatsby 's hard work and determination symbolize the American dream and how it can be achieved through hard work. Even if the aspiration of the average human changes by each generation they always want to do better than the parents. With the increased aspiration comes more difficult challenges from my grandpa’s dreams of just having a job, a simple and modest dream.
