Another big way greed come in was after Daisy killed Myrtle, it seems like she was smart enough to know that Tom has the money and the connection to keep her out of trouble and when it came to Gatsby his money and reputation as a bootlegger wouldn’t be able to keep her as safe. . I do believe that Daisy was in love with Gatsby but love is worthless to her unless money stands behind it. Greed plays has its fair share in this book, for example Toms cheating on Daisy because he probably just wants more girls to love while Gatsby see that it as that alone should be enough to win Daisy over. Even with the face of an angle Gatsby would basically have to impress daisy everyday with flashy things. One reason I believe Gatsby didn’t win her over was because he was in a way afraid to confront tom about it. The fact that she had kid with Tom also really got to Gatsby almost devastating especially when he referred to Pam as and it in the book. One thing you won’t be able to do is separate a child from her mother. You could even tell form both the book and the movie that Pammy meant the world to Daisy and when it comes to what she wants it almost a no thinking type of situation.
