Nick takes the time to describe each and gives us a background. Jordan Baker becomes a crucial part of this novel from this point despite her small role in the story. Jordan and Nick are both close to Daisy one of the protagonists of this novel. Jordan to was described holding class and a pure and innocent nature, despite the rumor that allowed Nick to remember her name. Jordan was involved in a scandal concerning the validity of her win during a golf game; it was said that Jordan had cheated by moving the ball herself into the hole. Nick from this party at Daisy house began creating a casual relationship with Jordan; that would soon be crucial to both of the main character Gatsby and Daisy. Jordan’s role in this novel is to unravel the mystery behind the love story of Gatsby and Daisy, as well as to allow them to rekindle their relationship through Nick. Wilson at the beginning of the novel is introduced as a kind and simple man who loves his wife very dearly, but he has been blind to the affair between his wife and Tom. When Wilson discovers that Myrtle had been unfaithful to him, he decides to keep her locked up until they begin their move to the west. The issue arises when Myrtle escapes and is run over by Gatsby’s car. This leads Wilson to believe that Gatsby had murdered his wife. Wilson decides one day to travel to Gatsby’s house to kill Gatsby. He is successful by shooting Gatsby while he is in his pool. This is so important to the story because it causes the death of protagonist of the story, and further the idea Nick is trying to illustrate to readers.
