The Great Gatsby Assessment “A moment later she rushed into the dusk, waving her hands and shouting--before he could move from his door the business was over”. George Wilson ran into the street shocked by what he had just witnessed. It was like the cars only desiree was to hit Myrtle Wilson. George dropped to his knees at the side of his wife. He grabbed her left hand and held it to his face. As he cried into her lifeless palm people gathered around. Soon police should up and pulled George away from the scene. “Myrtle, Myrtle , ooh Myrtle” George whimpered as he was pulled away. Instead he replayed the accident in his head. He remembered the yellow car. That yellow car that belonged to Tom Buchanan, the man Myrtle was having an affair with. He didn't want the police to deal with Tom, George wanted to do it himself to make sure he really paid.
“DAISY, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING”, yelled Gatsby. Daisy continued driving until she pulled into the driveway of her house. She turned to Gatsby and uttered “Gatsby, Tom will be home soon with Nick and Jordan so you better go. Take the car, I am going to stay home for awhile, don’t come over and don’t call please”. Without saying anything Gatsby took the keys and drove home. He parked the car in the garage and went inside. He sat in his room gazing at the shirts daisy adored so much. He thought she wouldn’t be able to be without him long anyway because he's loves her. Gatsby then went outside and stared across the bay at Daisy’s house expecting she would call him soon. Tom was about to drive past the gas station were his mistress had lived. He approached the sign in Gatsby’s car but then he saw the accident.
