8 October 2015 Within the nineteenth and twentieth centuries a lot of technology was created. For example, in the eighteen thirties the first “Reaping machine” was created. In the eighteen fifties the first oil well was created and used in the United States. The Wright Brothers made the first ever gas powered and manned airplane to fly in the 1900’s. Then in the 1920’s the first ever 3D movie was made. So up to the 1930’s a lot of work in the technology spectrum had a lot of development over the span of 100 years. The three biggest things that affected life was the Jet engine, Nuclear Fission, the desk phone. First, the jet engine was first used during WWII in what was called the W1 engine in “The Pioneer”. Now it’s used every hour of the day in flights from just a state to another state, or even going to another country. Secondly, is the desk phone. Most likely one of the best inventions of all time. It has been used in offices and is still being used in offices today. It also used to be used as a house phone, but now it is rarely used with all the cell phones that everybody has access to with today’s technology. Lastly is Nuclear Fission, the thing that allowed the U.S. to end WWII. With the atomic bomb using the energy of nuclear fission to create massive nuclear explosions. The U.S. secretly worked on this project called “The Manhattan Project” which was a project which spanned over the course of 6 years (1939-1945). This project actually involved Albert Einstein and he was the main scientist on this project, along with one-hundred and twenty thousand workers secretly working on the project. Also more than $2 billion dollars went toward the project. With no doubt, was this decade one of the most impactful decades in …show more content…
It’s good to see that through all the events like the great depression and WWII, inventions still get made and technology still progresses. Nuclear fission being the biggest technology progression, it’s scary to see how quick the world would be able to change and how little we know about what is actually happening around the world. The jet engines, nuclear fission, and desk telephone have played an impact on society that will never be able to be removed. With all that said, the 1930’s was a huge decade for technology progression and will be written down in history just for
