As the story progressed the author delved very deep into her family life. She discussed different reactions her mother and siblings had towards her father’s comments, purchases, and so on. When it comes to differences, there are tons of them. One of them being what I discussed earlier about the differences between the two sets of parents, but that is only the beginning.
Another major difference is the children. In the film the Bailey children are very charming, and respectful due to their privileged upbringing. Another reason they act in such a wonderful manner is because of their parents who nurtured them and never neglected them. In the graphic narrative it is completely opposite, with the children being very disrespectful and disobedient. I think the reason the children in the graphic narrative act this way is because of the constant neglect that is prevalent in their upbringing.
Another key difference I noticed was the marriage relationship among the Bailey’s and the Bechdel’s. The Bailey’s shared an incredible marriage, one with a very strong foundation. Throughout the movie, you could truly tell that the two loved each other very much. Their passion for one another even through the most difficult of times showed just how much the two of them belonged together. Their relationship showed how a wedded couple should act and how a wedded couple should take care of problems, if they do arise. In the graphic novel however, none of this romance was
