The Vietnam War was an event in which Americans began to question their government’s decision making process. The war started out as US trainers assisting South Vietnam, and then devolved into open American combat. Tens of thousands of deaths would result. People began to question why so many of their loved ones were dying for a war on the other side of the planet that did not affect them.
