The deity of Christ is something that people have been questioning for centuries. How should the Christian of today respond to these questions? Was Jesus truly God or just a great man? Also if Jesus is God does that mean there is more than one God? How can they both be God? People have had many thought about who Jesus is. Some call Him a prophet, some a good man. This question is not a new one; was Jesus truly one with God? We even see examples in scripture. In Luke 9: and he(Jesus) asked them, saying, whom say the people that I am? They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again. He said unto them, but whom say ye that I am? If a person wants to share their beliefs with another person, then they should start by understanding that person’s views. There are many different opinions out there, but, some are more popular than others. One opinion is that Jesus was only a good man who went around teaching people. This argument is probably the most prevalent today; mostly because it does not commit to one side or the other, it just rides the proverbial fence. In the words of Josh Mcdowell, “Jesus claimed to be God. He didn 't leave any other option open. His claim must be either true or false, so it is something that should be given serious consideration.” (McDowell) Another opinion is that Jesus never existed at all. Where this one is not quite as prevalent, mostly because There is so much reputable historical proof other than the bible that He existed. One of the most reputable sources that say Jesus existed is a historian named Josephus. He never claimed to be a follower of Christ, but many of his writing a line with facts found in the bible. He lived around 40 A.D which would be around four decades after Christ’s death. He wrote in a manuscript called the testimony of Josephus. Saying: “…Around this time there lived Jesus, a wise man if indeed one ought to call him a man.” (Mykytiuk) So he does not come right out and say that he is God but he does say that He
