After a four-year long journey one should walk away knowing that they are educated and versatile enough to have a smooth transition into the work force. Without the humanities not only would we have citizens who are uninformed about the world around them, but as a society we would lose the ability to think critically and consider multiple answers to a single question. All modern professions are based on interactions between people; education, administration, and even personal life benefit from being able to communicate properly. As a psychology major, knowing how to relate and communicate with people is essential to being able to find a job after graduation. Without humanities, psychologists may know what is wrong with a patient, but will not have an understanding how one’s socioeconomic standing, environment, and even religion are impacting them. In addition to not being able to see the bigger picture, psychologists who have no humanity courses under their belt, will likely have a hard time communicating appropriately as each patient will have a different reaction to the same
