In every family, there's always that special relationship or bond that’s shared between two family members that is exclusive to them. It could be between a mother and daughter, father and son, and most commonly, brother and sister. In the book, The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls, we see such a relationship between her, and her father, Rex Walls. In the book, Jeannette explores the adventures and conflicts she and her family experienced. These adventures being how her family survived years through poverty, and running from town to town. The relationship we see between Jeannette and her father, Rex Walls, definitely is special, one containing times of hardships and excitement.
Although the Walls lived in poverty, Jeannette and her family weren’t happy any less than one that could be considered normal. They all got along well with each other, with her parents doing the best they can to raise their children which consists of Jeannette and her brother and sister. I believe that the more obstacles you face with another person, the stronger your relationship becomes long as you overcome it together. You may learn something about someone you love during the experience, and maybe even something about yourself. This definitely applies to the relationship between Rex and Jeannette, in which they both got through the times of hardships that was put upon them. Put your relationship with your family members into consideration. Who do you share a special bond with in your family and why?
