History has taught us over and over that you need to fight for what you believe in and never give up. While “The Giver” may be dark at points it is an incredible book that only matches the darkness of the world that teens are going to be thrown into. Preparing young adults for the hard parts of the world and simultaneously showing them the wonders of it is what make “The Giver” a must read book and not something that should be kept away from them. Banning books shouldn’t be a thing, mostly because the only harm a book can do is make people think. If people are attempting to ban a book it is probably because they know they are wrong and afraid of the power the book has to prove how wrong they are. Banning “The Giver” or evening attempting to ban it is a mistake. The book teaches kids wonderful things and helps them explore a world of feelings that they are, much like Jonas, just being awakened
