How would you like to live in a community where there is no colors, sameness, and not much freedom? You probably would not like it. Well, I do not like the community in The Giver because they do not have much freedom, they cannot get things until they are a certain age at the ceremonies.
The people in the community get released if they are not good enough, if there are twins that are born the bigger one is kept and the smaller one is released, and if they break to many rules they get released. When they release someone the are killing them and since they cannot feel they do not know what they are doing is wrong.
The people in the community do not get much freedom. They do not get to chose their jobs, they get assigned jobs at the Ceremony

People have usually mistaken between tyranny and democracy and have chosen them to be synonyms whereas in the society which had been depicted by lowry Lois in the book The Giver these two words don’t look like synonyms and only one aspect is shown to the citizens of the society. Tyranny had adopted for the community and it had limited most of the truth behind the back of the few leaders, moreover, tyranny leads to faster decisions and usually in tyranny points are not heard, however, in context to the Giver, the society was molded in such a way that neither could this happen nor could anyone know the secrets hidden behind the back of all leaders . Tyranny like in the giver has laid down a huge set of laws and had put down too many limits to avoid problems, conflicts, and war,as Charles Peguy once said ”tyranny is always better organized than freedom” which comes into action in here and the leaders chose tyranny to eradicate problems from the community and had been successful in doing so. In a tyranny, only one leader is there and has several other people leading sections under him this leads to fluctuation in the society.…
