The Giver Monologue

The echoes, or the music I heard grew heavier and heavier, instead of vanishing. I decided to go where the music came from, shoving all the snow and snow slide away to keep Gabriel warm, but the snow kept getting in our way. As I walked through the snow, all the memories from the Giver I learned came up in my mind growing in a cycle and I felt balmy. The colors, food I liked, the sleigh all I learned, all the memories warmth myself even in the snow. Yes, I felt warm, but as the memory grew, I felt more exhausted. I shouted for help without any power and collapsed in the snow wondering if somebody would help us.

I woke up and looked around to see where I was. Gabriel, though he was still sleeping on my lap.

“Are you okay? I found you outside with a high temperature.This isn’t much, but

I’m home.”, said the big man suddenly to the women. “ Shew, it’s so cold outside. Could you give me a hot chocolate to help myself. Wait. Who is he ?”

I explained to him the same thing as I explained to the women. He told about the memory, he learned from the Giver.

“ Now I know the whole story. You’re the kid from that community. You know what? I used to live there before. I was like you, became a twelve years old and went to the ceremony of Twelves.But I saw it was unfair. Here in this community we get to choose our job and get to do whatever we want to do when we get older. Though we still have government, we don’t rely on them too much.”

I was surprised when I heard about it. It was different from our community, but I thought it was so much better than our community. Relying on people too much might make more mistakes is what I learned from him. He looked similar like the Giver.

“ You guys should go to sleep already. It’s too late.”

Since I didn’t have any change, I slept on the sofa with Gabriel. Gabriel was still sleeping and gave Gabriel the memory of happiness before sleeping. I thought in my mind that I forgot to ask both of their
