Explain why this idea is important
An important concept I became aware of in the text was a perfect society, Utopia. A utopian society is an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect. In the book, The Giver, the writer wrote about a perfect society in which there world is made up of equality, sameness and uniformity. They tried to make their society perfect by taking away colour, pain, love
In this unique community, I developed many differences between myself and the people from the written text. They don't experience pain, sickness, love and many other important traits that make us who we are. Utopia makes everything feel too happy that it becomes boring. These people have to be released (killed) at the age of 65, they have no idea that releasing is actually killing. However where I live people live as long as they can without having to be released at the age of 65. People get to live out their older years. If you're a birth mother had twins, they would kill the lightest twin and keep the heaviest to make things less confusing for the people. All characters from the book cannot identify differences between one another as they are all the same. Although they can identify that an individual may have more talent or interest in a subject or field that others do not have. There is also no freedom of choice, every member of the society cannot choose their future, it is chosen for them. This includes their jobs, where they live and who they live with. As in the community I live in, we have a lot more freedom of choice, I can work towards getting the job I want, I can experience love, everyone is unique and individuality is what makes us
