The Giver Dystopian

" The worst part of holding the memories is not the pain. It's the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared." In "The Giver" by Lois Lowry she explains and gives many similar and oppisite characteristics about both the utopian and the dystopian society. Even though they have a different approach but still kind of the same approach. They still convey the same message. One example of how they are different is how they get there jobs. In the book "The Giver" people don't get to pick out their job, people above them do. Lois Lowry talks about how "The Committee Of Elders" pick which job would fit there personality and there abilty. When we want a job we have to fill out an application for the job. In the morden-day society people have a choice …show more content…
In "The Giver" Lois Lowry says that when someone runs away then found, they will be commended. When you don't want to be found your family an searchers will try to hunt for you. In "The Giver" Lois explains that running away is a bad idea. In the world society humans have a choices only in one world which is my world where you can make choices . An example of how it is diferent, is that you don't get to pick who you want to be with. Within the book "The Giver" the people don't get to be with who they like. The Cheif Elder put the people together by there education level and there jobs. Anyone in my society can date anyone of there choice. In today's society people have a choice on what type of man/woman they want to date. The people in Jonas society can have kids but they have to have them with the person that is choosen for them. We can also have kids, they can to but when it's twins one gets released then the mother gets one baby. When kids are born at the hospitals the doctors don't kill there kids because, the parents would ask where thete new bon child is at. They don't have the choice's that we have in this modern world. In the society today people are having kids and they get to raise them until there not kids anymore , until they start there own
