In chapter 14 of The Giver by Lois Lowry, Jonas has a one of many harsh training session. In this session Jonas feels what a fractured leg feels like. This feeling to Jonas is indescribable, it feels dreadful because he can't take the pills that helps with pain. He is not allowed to tell anyone about his training; which is why feeling time is so hard for him. At the end of the chapter, Jonas the remembered memory of the sail on a bright, breezy, day, on a beautiful lake. This chapter has been filled with countless descriptions of Jonas’s memories given by The Giver.
