The Giver By Lois Lowry Essay

Have you ever heard of “The Giver”? If you haven't the you haven't heard of “Jonas”. In this essay I will be consulting to you about how Lois Lowry, the author of “The Giver”, uses a variety of means to characterize “Jonas” in this book. For instance, Lois Lowry makes Jonas appear happy , curious, and different. Now that you know a little bit about of what jonas is like in “The Giver” you will also know some of the things Jonas feels and experiences, as well as some memories. Later on in this essay I will be going deeper into Jonas characteristics and maybe, even some secrets about him. So hang on so you can find out some more about Jonas’ life and history. Happiness something that makes things last a lifetime. In this book Jonas experiences happiness in a variety of ways and forms. In the earlier chapters of “The Giver”, Jonas was receiving his earliest memories he came across happiness when he experienced sledding really fast down a long hill. Throughout the novel “The Giver” Jonas experiences curiosity in an abundance of ways. Heading to the near end of the chapters around chapter 19 Jonas started to come across curiosity when he wanted to feel something. Or why he needed injections and one of the things he wondered the most was why he couldn’t leave the community and go explore the world. Even though his life in the community was so false and full of lies, there were some truthful people. Well, there was only one truthful person and that seemed to be The Giver. The Giver was the only person that wouldn't leave Jonas curious or lost. The reason for that being that The Giver knew everything and anything.
