What would motivate a man to stand between his wife and the barrel of a gun or keep a young woman beside the hospital bed of her comatose fiancé? Love, is a word of endless meaning, a subject of complex debate, and an idea of perfect imperfection; a story without an ending. The Holy Bible’s 1 Corinthians 13:13 hastened to say, “now abides faith, hope, [and] love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (KJV) I believe love to not only be an idea, but a singular entity of self-sacrificial and unconditional love. Here, love is referred to a “her” however in similar biblical translations love is also known as “charity”. Love is passion, the uncontrollable thirst for the fellowship and company of another, the self-inflicted obligation for the happiness of another. A person who compliments the other spiritually and whole heartedly could easily produce a life full of love, but unfortunately more times than not, it is not enough. I suppose it is true what society says of love, that it hurts, but then again it is not love that hurts, it is the people that do. That’s the thing about love; sometimes it can come too easily and leave devastatingly. But could never blame an inanimate emotion such as love for the pain it has caused, on can only
