The Giganotosaurus, lived in the Cretaceous period about 95-100 million years ago. It was notorious during its era. The Giganotosaurus tended to stalk their prey before they killed. They were meat eaters (carnivores). Even though their teeth were long and knife like, their jaws were not strong enough to bite through their prey, they substituted the use of their jaws to the use of their claws.
