The gift and the giver is an African folk tale written by Russell G. Davis and Brent K. Ashabranner. This story is about a poor farmer who found the most beautiful apple he had seen growing in his apple tree. A lot of farmers came to see this apple and all of them agreed that this apple was created straight from the hands of god himself. When the farmer thought about what will he do with the apple, he decided he would give it to his daughter, but the daughter just wouldn't accept such a priceless gift, she thought she wasn't worthy enough. The daughter suggested such a priceless gift could only be given to a king. So the farmer travelled very far and finally reached the kings palace.
