The Geography Of Bolivia

The country I am doing for my Cultural heritage project is Bolivia. The geography of Bolivia is unique among the nations of South America. The main features of Bolivia's geography include the Altiplano, a highland plateau of the Andres, and Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on Earth, which is shared with Peru. Lake Titicaca is the highest commercially navigable body of water in the world. It is also larger than Puerto Rico and is South America's second largest lake by surface area. Lake Titicaca moderates the climate for a considerable distance around it, making crops of maize and wheat possible in sheltered areas.

Bolivia's business culture reflects a blend of ancient and modern cultures found in a gorgeous country with tremendous potential for growth and development. Agriculture remains an important sector of the total. In the 1990s, it represented about 16 percent of the Bolivian economy. Estimates showed a 3.5 percent decline in 1998 because of adverse weather conditions, but a 2.6 percent growth was predicted for 1999. Bad weather in 2000 and 2001, especially the worst rains in many decades, will have a serious impact. Agro-industrial products have the fastest growth of Bolivia's …show more content…
There were may celebrations in Bolivia. Some were small celebrations in a village, others were festivals held throughout the country. Somebody told me that in many places they have some sort of celebration at least once, if not twice a month. I wouldn’t be surprised if indeed that was the case. These celebrations, most of them held for religious reasons, are colorful events. They probably include pagan as well as Christian elements, processions with traditional dances and music, fireworks and lots of alcohol. The otherwise somewhat introvert Bolivians – at least in the highlands – open up as soon as they participate in a parade to honor the Virgin, or have drunk some chichas, an alcoholic, homemade drink made of corn. I really enjoyed visiting and traveling to Bolivia. To me Bolivia was one of the best places I have ever been to due the cold nice weather they have

The Cochabamba Water Collective (CWC) is by far what I consider to be one of the better suited proposals for this area and for the management of these water resources. Bolivia itself does not have an incredibly advanced or well established infrastructure and still has a long way to go before it becomes as economically stable as many larger countries such as the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom. So until Bolivia is able to develop and grow as an economy and country, then reinvestment in locals, a focus on local economy and development, and well directed reform, is what’s necessary to see success. The Cochabamba Water Collective seems to hit all three of these points. By utilizing the funds that the IMF and the World Bank have previously…

The only differences are that mass media play a major factor in showing people how it's done. One mass media factor is websites, they show or explain how people prepare for the event by either showing people how to prepare the event piece by piece in the form they want to present. An example of this is the website "Latin Times", this site reports many things from the news to life styles. As well as showing recipes of tamales that the people can try to make for themselves, so they can eat during the events. However, websites aren't the only area that people look for to gain information about this tradition, they also look at the t.v as well.…
