They would be in the Nutcracker every December. The most memorable one was the last one ever. Carly was Clara, the lead role. She had several dances, plus acting, her last one was on Pointe. Timothy was the mouse king, who accidently fell in the orchestra pit while fighting the prince. Glad it was in dress rehearsal and he wasn't hurt. He just jousted back too far, right off stage. Maddie was the,the maid in the opening scene and the Sugar Plum Fairy, as well as the mouse leader. She helped out in class with the younger kids, so it was natural for them to follow her. All the babies were dressed up as mice, and ran flocking everywhere with the mouse king. Malorie was the Snow Queen, a very important role, dancing on Pointe.
Shortly after this performance, the Garner family suffered the loss of their grandfather. This caused the family to have to move close to their grandmother. The Garner family did not find a dance company in their new town. They never danced together again. The Nutcracker was their last dance

Acceptance is hard for families, especially for older individuals, so it is natural for the Alacrán family not to accept Matt for being a clone. “‘Benito told me about the situation, only I thought it was living somewhere else. In a zoo, maybe’”(Farmer 25). The Alacrán family does not accept Matt because clones aren’t supposed to be out in the real world like humans, they believe clones should be held in zoos like wild animals. The family is probably having a hard time accepting that their great-grandfather or great-great-grandfather is now also a young…
