The Garden Of Eden Analysis

How incredible to think that this temptation is so great that the Lord will send down a flying angel to communicate this message to the people on earth. This speaks to the Lord’s awesome grace and love towards all humanity. He does not long for the death of anyone’s soul, but that they should repent and believe (Ezek. 33:11). Death of the soul is not annihilation, but everlasting torment.
Humanity’s mythic stories of good and evil draw upon this real battle that culminates in real time-and-space. They all contain elements of God’s truth that have been handed down since the beginning in The Garden of Eden. This is the penultimate moment of: “Choose this day whom you will serve!” Absolutely breathtaking. Imagine those who witness it first hand?

The word for wisdom in the phrase, “Here is wisdom”, is the Greek word, Sophia, which is more often associated with man’s cleverness. I suspect the riddle, if there is one, is in the front half of the sentence. Do you want “wisdom” (sophia: smarts, intelligence)? Then gain “understanding” (nous: which only the Lord can give).
God is saying, “Here is wisdom — Gain understanding!” As the proverb says, “The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; and with all your acquiring, get understanding.” (Prov. 4:5-7). Christ is wisdom personified. Do you truly want to be wise? It needs to start with God. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” (Psalm 1:7) “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Psalm 9:10) Knowledge, wisdom and understanding all start and end with God. “Here’s the problem. — Here’s the solution.”
The Bible does not teach that “smart people” go to heaven. In a certain sense, it mocks the idea. The Apostle Paul teaches that God will confound the world’s wisdom. “Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” (1 Cor.

In a world with countless viewpoints, defining wisdom can pose a challenge. While some wisdom shows truth universally, some wisdom can present itself as a problem of subjectivity. In the book The Chosen by Chaim Potok, the author uses this theme of wisdom to influence the protagonists of the story from the wisdom of two fathers. These fathers, however, differ in many key areas such as wisdom for life generally, wisdom in raising children, and wisdom for the world fraught with persecution of the Jews. Thus, the two children themselves must show wisdom in deciding which viewpoint shows validity.…

Within the book, Gifted Hands by Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Carson uses an acrostic to effectively communicate key reasons as to why he believes he is successful, as well as give encouragement to others to strive and succeed. While this acrostic may not aspire to the highest level of literature that a well placed metaphor or eloquent syntax might, the functionality and worthwhileness the acrostic provides transverses the realms of literature and becomes applicable in commonplace life. To firmly apply this acrostic into one’s life, there is fulfillment, encouragement, and knowledge all contained within this acrostic. Within talent and time, one must acknowledge the gifts God has given. Furthermore, one must be punctual with those gifts as well as punctual with oneself.…

Sermon on evangelism = Giving the first of our lips - John Piper has this amazing introduction to a sermon he did on Phil 1:27, and it so ably gets to the heart of what I want to explain today, so here it is a south africanization of that o “Have you ever wondered what tales will be told in the age to come? When the Lord Jesus has come, and the judgment is past, and the kingdom is established, and all sin and misery are gone forever, and the world is new, what will we talk about when we gather around the fireplace on a warm Johannesburg evening, or as we walk through the leaves in delta park, or the Melville koppies that have been turned red and yellow not by the sun but by the glory of God? What tales will we tell to each other? We will tell…

The man who is wise is the man who has been trained by Christ to give knowledge “legs”, as facts become form and principle becomes practice. Understanding is the “why” behind both knowledge and wisdom. True wisdom and understanding is only revealed by God and cultivated as we practice the spiritual disciplines; reading of God’s word, prayer, fasting, fellowship, service and worship. Wisdom is not out of reach... We just don’t…

The Mysteries Behind the Walls of Knowledge: Teddy and the captain J.D. Salinger’s “Teddy” and Stephen Crane’s “The Open Boat” are just two works of literature that convey a powerful meaning. Teddy and the captain from “The Open Boat,” despite their age differences, are seen as leaders who are erudite. What does it mean for a leader to be considered erudite? These leaders must demonstrate a strong indication of knowledge. Wisdom and knowledge, fraternal twins imbued in Man since Creation, Romulus and Remus, Cain and Abel, one idolized, coveted, benevolent, and permanent; the other mundane, transitory, and potentially dangerous. A crashing wave of brine sweeps the sandy shore along, ever tumultuous: this is knowledge. Droppingly slow, stalactites and stalagmites coalesce into stony relics: this is wisdom. For wisdom is infinitely more precious than knowledge: he who knows, comprehends; he who is wise, empathizes. From Ecclesiastes, two independent propositions are set forth on wisdom and knowledge, but they are half-truths.…

The main three key words that stuck out to me in this passage is judgment, truth, and what is applicable. Being able to judge what is right and wrong is what makes someone wise, making that decision that could change someone 's life forever for better or worse. Making the right judgment though in that situation is what makes a person wise. Truth is also very necessary because only those who know the truth are those who are seen as wise. Finally what is applicable is the real determination of wisdom because so many things in today 's world really don 't matter and many people find themselves caught up in situations that they really shouldn 't be in.…
