If you do that, if you leave it all on the ice, you can walk the halls tomorrow at school and feel proud of yourselves. Wear that jersey with pride tonight boys because this is your time.” My coach’s words were ringing through my head as I was on the bench waiting for my first shift. But no matter what the situation, I always had my friends to cheer me up, my coaches to tell me beat them next time, and my parent to tell me to suck it up and win the next match. I've had a lot of success while under the guidance of my coaches; Coach Davis, Coach Marko, Coach Hill and Coach Leon. I’ll never keep any of the glory for myself, I owe everything to them, my parents, and my teammates.…

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

Our coach brought us together at the half and told us this aphorism. This really got us pumped up because we remembered all of the hard work that we had put into practice and we knew that if we did all that we learned and played 100% then we had a chance to win or at least tie. We were also pumped because we were reminded that it would be the last home game for our seniors and we wanted to give our all for them and wanted to win this game for them. We came out strong the next half and played our hearts out, we never gave up. We ended up catching…

I was terrified. I would try my hardest to get a good spot on the team by copying what the other girls did. But then I found out that I needed to do the things my coach said and forget what the other girls were doing and focus on what I was doing in my own way and that i needed to pay attention of how I was playing and concentrate on how all the girls passed the puck and that I needed to start being more confident of I play. Hockey has taught me that anything is possible and that I just need to make goals to accomplish them. At first when I started out playing hockey, I had a goal that I learn to do a crossover in two weeks.…
