Today, healthcare has an electronic data of the patient, which is faster than getting from paper records, but accessing those data in critical condition is hard. As current technology hospitals have; they can get those data from a computer and get a printout or accessible through provided tablet which makes the process slow and the slower process is not acceptable especially when a situation is alive or dead. It’s been proposed that nurses of the future may wear a device similar to Google Glass that displays patient records and/or vital signs on the lens, upon entering a patient’s room and also alert a nurse of a sudden change in patient status. (ASU, 2010). This kind of technology could give to a faster response and improve the safety of …show more content…
Sometimes nurse has to go to the patient’s home and have to perform some test to get data. We have technology that gives the same experience as talking face-to-face with the patient. Using the webcam with audio on Skype or other audio/video technologies such as FaceTime or Google chat made the interaction seem as simple as calling and as personalized as face-to-face communication (Gray, 2014). This technology can reduce a cost and time and give a portability to nurse and patients. However, this technology is helpful if have to communicate with patients for once or twice a day for a checkup. Therefore, this technology is not useful when it come to a continuous monitor. Currently, we can use apple kit. Apple created the Health Kit platform so that third-party developers could design apps that provide data to various providers and organizations (Skiba, 2014). Currently, have to perform several tasks to get the report but More development on this kind of kit/tool will help the nurse to get live and accurate data about a health condition and monitor them remotely from phone or
