The Future Of NASA Research

NASA works to increase not only to change the way organizations and individuals treat climate and environment, but also to increase the public knowledge about climate change. The goal behind this is to break misconceptions, educate the young, and prepare for a future of awareness. An official report released from NASA explains the reasoning and goal behind this research and education. It reads, “Federal climate change science research focuses on broadening fundamental scientific understanding of climate change and on gathering data to monitor physical processes” (“Federal Climate Change Programs: Funding History and Policy Issues (2010)”). To accomplish this goal of education and data sharing, NASA is part of a collective group of agencies …show more content…
However, NASA is not in the business of creating products, they are in the business of science. It might be important to know that NASA’s support goes beyond public technology. NASA researches climate change, employes engineers, ignites curiosity, launches rockets, explores space, and acts as an ambassador to other countries (Miozzi). NASA is no waste, it produces technology, which will in turn directly benefit the average person. In the event that a citizen never comes in contact with a NASA inspired product, this citizen will still live to see the impact of NASA on their life. Climate change is preventable and if NASA has any say in the matter, NASA will endeavor to slow or stop the process. Children all over the world are obsessed with space and rocket ships. Space travel is a novel, fantastic idea to them, depicted as an exciting, intelligent, and prestigious occupation. When a child then learns that they could work for NASA, or that they could be an astronaut, they begin to dream. Erin Wallace, the author of “NASA should Reignite the Space Race” stated that “Space travel is the epitome of scientific exploration and the necessity of curiosity” (Wallace). Space travel, the exploration of space, the exploration of worlds that are not ours, the exploration of places we have not been, and the desire to know how. NASA works for the improvement of humankind, it leads and inspires the science world towards bigger and better things.
