The Importance Of Being An Educated Person

A person is classified as a truly educated when they portray a splendid character everywhere they are. Education is the key to success as maximum people know while character is the behavior a person portrays. It is believed that when one has a wonderful character, it means they are civilized and well mannered. Being educated plays an important role in a person’s life. Not only will it give you an advanced job in the future, but it also makes others respect who you are since you portray a great behavior. Martin Luther King Jr said, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character -that is the goal of true education." We then proceeded to learn two letter word and adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying numbers. We were not taught every single thing that we know now, but through the education we acquired while growing up, we have been able to apply what we have learned and now we can spell and pronounce a twenty letters, words, add and subtract more than ten digits and do more than we could do when we started school. This indicates that we learned more than we have been taught in life. Being truly educated is not having to be able to solve the massive problems in books, but also being viewed by the community as a responsible and courteous person. There may be two educated people in the world. One may have the knowledge from books, while the other person may have both the book knowledge and virtuous character. To the society they are both educated, but only will be highly respected than the other. They are educating us to be thinking outside the box to be able to solve bigger problems. Having an appropriate character and being educated indeed shows that you are the real educated person and you are going to impact lives and set a good example for others to follow. My upcoming educational experience at the University of Louisville will contribute greatly to the campus community. This is for the reason that at the University of Louisville, students do not only get to be educated in the knowledge of books, but also educated to have an effective character. With this educational experience I will be able to obtain both superior education and an excellent character. Acquiring educated at the University of Louisville will help me achieve my aim of being a pediatrician and also help myself with my goals. This will also help the community because once I become a pediatrician, I will be helping the community.
