To address the basics of the concert its intended audience was really just about anyone. Mostly students were in the audience there for assignments of some sort. However, there were many others from family to fans of the quartet to people there just for the music. I felt for the most part like I belonged in such an audience, though I may have been a tad underdressed as many of the older attendees had dressed nicer than a simple t-shirt and jeans.

String Quartet No. 5 written by Bela Bartok, part of a full set of 6 stands alone as a complete piece of music. Described in length by the performers as an almost flawless piece of music, they are clear fans of Bartok and the nuance to his work. This piece begins it is first quick moving between notes just as fast as the performers can go. Then it moves to a period of lengthy notes which draw on. The song moves through periods of great stillness and great movement. It has a horror like tune just as well with the rapid notes building an eeriness in the music for the first half of the thirty-minute piece. As the song nears it ends it tones down the eeriness a bit and moves to a more typical classical sound before ending on a
