The land of the free and the home of the brave. People work their whole lives to be able to come here, but is it really the land of the free and the home of the brave? Free: not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes. If homosexuals do not have the right to marry in America then it is not home of the free. Brave: people who are ready to face or endure danger. Homosexuals are not causing any danger to America, so telling them they don 't have the same rights as herterosexuals does not make anybody brave. Homosexual American citizens should have the right to marry whomever they want based on their constitutional rights, their rights as human, and the fact that they live in “ thelandof the free.”
It is said by many that same sex marriage is against the law however marriage is not discussed in the constitution so legal opponents argue that the federal government can not mandate states to acknowledge gay marriage as the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people (“Tenth Amendment”). In essence, they think it takes the democracy away from the states as the constitution wanted it to be. To say that the government can chooses whether or not gay marriage is to be allowed is going against what The Constitution states.
