National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that promotes the four pillars: character, scholarship, leadership, and service. Most of all, it is an organization where we should combine team work to improve our community, not an extracurricular we put in our college applications. Throughout my years in NHS, I have seen people join the club and run for leadership positions solely to increase their chances in college admissions. However, to me, NHS is an organization that I desire to improve upon by not only offering alternatives for point opportunities, but incorporating activities that benefit the community. Although the four pillars of NHS are significant, I truly believe that service should be highly emphasized since not many can sacrifice
