Reflection On The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

After taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) on www.16personalities.com a multiple of times, my constant result were the four letters ISFJ. Each letter stands for introvert, sensing, feeling, and judging. Personally, to greatly understand an ISFJ, the website Truity.com describes us as, “… characteristically [being] humble and unassuming, and rarely call attention to themselves. They can often be found offering assistance to others in a modest, understated way. They are loyal and hardworking, and often commit themselves to tasks and projects with the aim of being helpful to their families, friends, and communities. They are typically involved in social groups, but do not want the spotlight: they are more likely to be found behind the scenes, working diligently to fulfill their role. ISFJ’s are oriented to relationships, but can be reserved with new people. They rarely disclose personal information quickly. They tend to be focused and aware of their surroundings, and relate details from their own personal experience. They often converse in terms of …show more content…
I believe that we are both big worriers. I worry about others around me the closest most. When an incident happened to my sister, I was worried about her a lot. I constantly texted her to make sure she was okay and asked her where she was. I also made sure she did not have negative thoughts in her head all the time because of the incident. I wanted my sister to speak her mind. Marlin worried about Nemo and Dory who were those he cared about most. Marlin and I are also motivated by our own thoughts and ideas. He connects that with how the mother has yet to back down. She is not speaking directly to her son, but reflecting on her past, and discussing her present. The mother also tells the son: “For I’se still goin’, honey,” (18). The mother is now addressing the son directly to pass on the repeating message of driving through obstacles and not surrendering to the pressure of life. She uses “honey” to make the son understand that she wants this from him and him to not buckle under life’s pressure.…

I think these strengths are very useful when conducting a group work since they help people open-up. In a group work like I stated earlier, patience is very necessary when dealing with clients. In group works things do not always go as plan and there can be many obstacles, so having patience can help you remain calm and help the group get back on track. Being open minded is also helpful because you are not there to judge anyone and being open to anything the clients say can help them feel more comfortable sharing. Compassionate is also very helpful because if you are compassionated it means you care for the people around you and in a group work you are there to help people deal with any problem they are facing.…

I was there to witness her diagnosis and to care for her emotions to the diagnosis after. It was very hard for her to comprehend she was scared and in the times that she did remember she would always tell us to never forget that she loved us. Also, she informed us that she didn’t want her to be a burden and if at any point we needed to be put in a nursing home she would understand. So, with my great-grandmother I was able to see what she was feeling and how she felt before, during and after her diagnosis. With that being said we never put her in a nursing home we felt that between my grandmother, my parents, and I that we could work together to keep and we did just that.…

My dad analyzes everything before thinking, but thinks quickly. He is reserved and not overbearing, but has a way of making his point clear without ever really raising his voice. My mom has always been the more vocal of my parents. She will let you know what she is thinking and just lays it out for you. She corrects in a loving matter, and tries to make you think about the consequences.…

I stepped aside from my group and answered the call, and all he said was, “there will be an emergency delivery, mom is having the baby, there were complications.” I hung up from my phone and my youth group leader rushed to me and was asking if I got a hold of my dad and if I knew what was going on. My best friend Brittney, all she had to see was the worry in my eyes and she ran over and just hugged me and cried with me. I am not an emotional person especially around other people, and at this point I was shaking and just crying uncontrollably. I think it was just that everything was so overwhelming and the fact that I was states away from everything and there was literally nothing I could do to help. I am the type of person, that when there is a problem I try…

My parents recognized that and urged us to forgive, because there are going to be times when we make mistakes and “don’t we want them to forgive us?” My mom has modeled this beautifully over the past few years as she has worked through my father’s actions. Lastly, my parents wanted us to be generous. Everyone goes through times of need, so give because if you were in need you would want support without any expectations…

We feel the pain and joy for others as if it was us. Circle individuals tend to listen actively and communicate easily, but we are emotionally charged thinkers rather than logical. Most of these circle personality traits relate to myself and what I have to offer in a team setting. I am a good listener who wants more for someone else rather than myself. Communicating well with team members would be another circle personality trait that would be beneficial to a team because if a team does not have good communicate then the process of teamwork becomes difficult.…

Like you said in class, it can be important to take other people up with you when you have a job. Sadly, I have a tendency to forget to go up with my peers, and become used like a step stool through no one’s fault but my own. I do not mind most of the time since I enjoy helping others get to the goal. Supporting people from the background is even something that ISFP personality types good at; it just backfires when I realize that I can easily get left behind. When I do not get left behind, people remember what I did for them, and what kind of character I have.…

A general definition is an approachable and competent person who serves individuals or groups in need of interaction and guidance.
