Keller's Motivation Model

- when all members published their paragraphs, each member will read the completed body of the essay to give feedback on both the form and content. This peer feedback directly address the learners’ need to receive immediate and frequent feedback. Moreover, it will improve their critical thinking skills and their writing, as they have to compose complex comments. To provide effective feedback, learners will be given a guideline (scaffold) containing the relevant criteria, so that they know exactly what to look for and what to comment on (engagement strategy; scaffolding; learner-to-learner and learner-to-content interaction). Here, the four components of Keller’s motivation model are followed.
- Learners will revise their drafts based on the comments they receive (engagement strategy; learner-to-learner, learner-to-self, and learner-to-content).
- When they are done with the revision, they discuss the introduction and conclusion parts of the essay, and each member write a proposed introduction and conclusion, according to the sequential-style writing (Lowry et al., 2004) (organizational and engagement strategy; scaffolding; learner-to-learner and learner-to-content interaction).

The students have already been divided into groups of four in the class.
