Thomas Jefferson is a well-known Founding Father of the United States. He has helped form the country we live in today, America. He was a huge part of the Louisiana Purchase by commissioning the Corps of Discovery Expedition. Thomas Jefferson is the third President of The United States for the years 1801-1809. Thomas helped write the First Amendment which was signed on September 17, 1787. Not only was he actively involved in politics, but he grew up on a farm which helped him invent a couple of things. Thomas Jefferson positively changed the world by having a strict interpretation of The Constitution, which we now use today to make choices and form our government.

Jane Randolph, Thomas Jefferson mother, was born on February 9th, 1721. That’s almost 295 years to today 's date, February 3rd, 2016. Jane was born in a place called Shadwell, which is part of the United Kingdom. As a small child, she immigrated along with her family to America and settled in Virginia. All of Jane’s education was taught to her from home. Jane came from a very wealthy family. Her family claimed descent from the kings of Scotland and England. Jane happens to be related to one of the most important men of the Virginia House of Burgesses, Peyton Randolph. Peyton Randolph was a speaker for the Virginia House of Burgesses, as well as chairman of the Virginia Conventions.
