Student Success Research Paper

“Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill. Student success is not just about the successes of the student but how the student gets over the obstacles. Obstacles that can be created by the student’s struggles as well as the teacher and materials being used to teach the student. Students’ success can be both long and short termed in referring to whether it is learning the alphabet or graduating from college after many struggles and obstacles. For a successful student requires three elements: a students’ attitude to strive for better, the materials available for a student to succeed and a proper teacher to inspire and encourage the student. "The quality of the relationships that students have in class with their peers and teachers is important to their success in school." A student’s attitude towards their schooling is important, if they have a negative view they will not be able to do their best work. If a student has materials that are outdated or insufficient they will have a poor results. However, when materials that are over a students’ ability are used they will quickly become overwhelmed and equally become unsuccessful. If a student has proper and correct teaching materials based upon their skills level they can easily become more successful and will achieve greatness. Students will have a positive attitude towards their school work and better success. According to Teaching in America a students’ accessibilities to materials outside of school also plays a great role into how the student succeeds. If a student is able to access additional learning materials they are able to better learn and better succeed in life.
