Overview
This paper is divided into two sections. Section I tells a story about one of the blended learning method that is called “The Flipped Classroom Model” which synthesize several findings from a few related articles (see appendix). Besides, section II of this paper is entitled “Implications for My Teaching Practice”. This section thus will be discussing on how the researchers can incorporate their findings on section I into their own teaching experiences and programmes in the future.

Story

At the beginning phase, one must explains the basic idea of the flipped classroom method. The purpose, expectation, responsibility and differences of flipped classroom compared to traditional classroom method must be understood by the students. The online core learning materials of the subject have to be watched and understood by the students beforehand, with additional resources available for those who wish to explore further. A checker system will be implemented in order to check who had view the lecture. After the online lecture, students are required to complete a few sets of short quizzes to examine their level of understanding before they come to class. Meanwhile, students can try it repetitively. Some stimulating questions will be asked for students to prepare before attending the class. In the classroom, the class starts with a brief review of the online lecture before discussing the questions that students prepare beforehand (Strayer, …show more content…
Therefore, the motivation level of the students in the beginning stage is crucial. At the beginning of implementation stage, teachers can provide immediate and frequent feedbacks to the student in the classroom to motivate them (Slavin, 2014). Other than that, teachers need to think how to assist students in adapting to their new role and expectations under this flipped classroom model (Wallace, Walker, Braseby & Sweet, 2014). Under this model, student is holding more responsibility, expected to take initiative and more discipline in the learning process which different from traditional classroom model.
