Just like everyone else, I can 't wait to go home and start my summer. It was almost time to walk out the doors of West Elementary School for the last time. At the end of the day, my teacher tells our class she wants to meet with us in her classroom. She wouldn’t let anyone leave before giving us her parting words of wisdom. She meets with each of us individually to give us advice for junior high and high school. I know she thinks I’m a good student because all of my teachers tell my parents so. I am no longer in top ten, but I am eighteenth in my class. I have finally learned that even though I am not the best in my class, I am still a good student. I am also more practical with my goals now that I am older. I understand I am taking challenging courses and it is okay if I receive a “B.” My flame burns a little brighter now that I am not discouraged by my grades.
