The Five Stages

I am elevated in my mindset by several movies, but my favorite movie would have to be “The Edge of Seventeen”. This is my favorite move for numerous reasons. For example, the movie has a deep meaning and touches what life as a real seventeen year old is actually like. This movie also explains how to go through the five stages of grief after suffering a loss. The first factor that makes this movie great is the meaning behind it. The meaning really touches your soul and hits home in a way that other movies do not. The meaning behind this movie is to stay alive and not let the many depressions of the world steal your life from you. For example, when a loved one dies and your best friend leaves you, you should prevail against all of the odds and …show more content…
For example, Nadine, the protagonist of the movie, suffered through many things that seventeen year olds all over the world go through. She suffered through loss, break ups, peer pressure, and losing her best friend. However, despite all of these difficulties she pushed through them and she turned out to be a diamond in the rough. The last factor that makes this movie great is that it explains how to go through the five stages of grief. Nadine went through denial, anger, depression and acceptance. However she never ran into “bargaining”. After her father died, she had to learn how to not take her anger out on her mom and her brother, how to take depression pills to make the pain a little less, and how to accept that her father is gone. I found this extremely enlightening and interesting to learn about. In conclusion, the movie “The Edge of Seventeen” is my favorite movie for several reasons. A few of these reasons are the fact that the movie has a deep meaning and touches what life as a real seventeen year old is actually like, and it teaches you how to go through the five stages of

Throughout Jeanette Wall’s memoir The Glass Castle, the author utilizes diverse and creative language, diction, and style to convey themes about nonconformity and self-sufficiency, while teaching strong lessons on individuality, endurance, and strength. Although both of Jeanette’s parents, Rose Mary and Rex, are irresponsible, selfish, and reckless, they did instill valuable life lessons and reflect meaningful sentiments onto their children, Lori, Jeanette, Brian, and Maureen. Rex Walls creates false pretenses to replicate a lifestyle of wanderers or explorers and to make up for insufficient income; however, he inspires young Jeanette radically and becomes a catalyst for her hopes, dreams, and uniqueness. CONTRA MUNDUM -- Being a short and very personal reverie concerning the tale of Sebastian Flyte and Charles Ryder I first saw "Brideshead Revisited" when I was very young. I didn't understand everything in the story but for some reason I was extremely fascinated, and I remember wondering why that funny young man with the teddy bear was so unhappy. This was a great mystery to me. I saw it again years later, and I read the book. Now I could see all of the things that I couldn't understand when I was younger: Sebastian's homosexuality, his problems with alcohol, with his family, with the world in general, but even though all of these things are supposed to explain his character, the fact that he is so unhappy remains as great a mystery as ever;…

Going to watch Anatomy of Hate at 9 pm, I did not know what to expect. Once the film started playing though my gut reaction was disturbed. I could not understand how others could tear someone down based on skin color and religion. I have known what happened in Germany during world war 2, but somehow I have held out hope that there were no one treating people terribly in America. What disgusted me was seeing how parents portrayed views on their own children that were discriminatory and seeing how children would hold signs with words I never could imagine saying.…

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is well worth watching because it is very well rounded. This climatic film ties together many of Marvel’s previous movies and thus is packed with reputable actors. He protracted Jesus in a different way than I thought Jesus was in the bible. Also, Jesus in the bible was calm and he know that he was going to die and he didn't think about it twice, Jesus in the movie was calm but he had a edge about his personally, and he double thought him dying on the cross. The role of Jesus in the movie and bible was to save our world from world sin and die on the cross.…
