Rather than wasting paper on expensive textbooks, would it just be easier to pull out a cell phone or tablet? Today, many school districts, all over the country, have cut back on utilizing these massive and out-of-date books, and instead are introducing more advanced technology into classrooms all over the nation. With a great increase of technology in classrooms, what kind of technological innovations will the world see in the future, and how will they benefit students’ ability to learn?

One important reason she addressed was about building more positive citizens in our society. She states, “We can increase our students’ ability to think critically by teaching them how to differentiate between reliable and unreliable websites. We can help our students stay safe by educating them about the dangers of trusting people they chat with online, or the information they send to one another over the Internet” (Mathis). Teachers now, have an opportunity of teaching their students the correct way of using technology inside and outside of the classroom doors. In twenty years will these new styles of teaching be the new way of learning for schools not only in the United States, but for the world? For example, remote learning has become very beneficial for students enrolled in online courses. At Nexus Academy, a high school in Columbus, Ohio is one of seven schools out of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana with a robot roaming the halls. One teacher, Thomas Fech, who teaches in one of the charter schools in Ohio, comfortably from his home in Arizona, says, “I like driving it around and feeling like I am in the school. It’s neat to feel like I am part of the classroom” (Dobo). Since, Fech is unable to teach his students in Arizona, the telepresence robot helps him instruct his students all the way across the country. Remote learning is completely different from using web chat, because instead of trying to contact the person on the other end of the line, and waiting for them to answer.
