The main intention for such a test is to record results and evaluate the education being given in each state, then compare those results as a whole nation. It is agreed upon both sides of this debate that the education of students is the most important factor.…

Furthermore, the No Child Left Behind Act negatively affects schools by adding extra pressure on teachers. Not only do schools base their teacher’s performance levels on their student’s success inside the classroom, but also by the level of proficiency their students score on standardized tests that are mandatory under the No Child Left Behind Act. Referring to Peter Bliss Jones, “By its sole reliance on academic assessments as measure of district, school, and teacher effectiveness the NCLB accountability system minimizes or ignores other influences that are at play within the classroom and that contribute to assessment outcomes” (14). Teachers are the ones within a school that are held solely responsible for how students perform on standardized…

These tests have been around since the 1920s and are currently used in high schools, colleges, and even elementary schools across the states. Students who want to lean will be better than those who are only studying to get money. In addition, getting paid may be effective, but it is external and is generally short- term. Argumentative Essay: Flaws of the Education System There are inherent flaws within the education system which we use today pushes students far beyond their limits and it lacks emphasis on practical skill. Schools create a needlessly high stress environment basing their future upon numbers and grades rather than teaching and refining their practical skills. Lots of potential is flushed out of the curriculum due to college and high schools insisting that students must be able to juggle advance courses, maintain high unweighted GPAs, and participate in extracurricular activities in order to succeed in the future; hence, repairing and recognizing the inherent flaws of the education system is crucial to ensure that students earn the future that…
