The Industrial Revolution first started in Great Britain and eventually grew to the United States in the early 19th century. It was first created to increase people's set of living. Before the industrial revolution, the greater part of Americans lived on farmland, small towns, or villages where there was slight manufacturing. A farmer typically also was capable to create shoes, and women spent their time making soap and candles, or making clothing. The manufacturing that did take set was in homes or rural areas and it was all done by hand. Some goods made in the home were even traded for food. In the late 1700’s, the first symbol of a revolution take place when the first steam engine was built. It launches the notion of companies and factories
