The first of the Crusades began in 1095, Christian knights waged a religious war against the Muslims in Jerusalem in the holy lands. The Christian were against the Muslims because they didn’t believe in their religious. The Muslims didn’t care for the Christian rights or their religious. All they care for was to get them out of the picture. Historians consider that between 1096 and 1291 there were seven major Crusades and numerous minor ones. In 1095 Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade with the stated goal of restoring Christian access to holy places in and near Jerusalem.
