The first one being “Is Google making us stupid.” By Nicholas Carr. In this article Carr states that the new way of reading online is skimming multiple articles. He states that we don’t fully read like we did in the past, although we are “reading more than we did in the 70’s and 80’s. I do agree with this I find that when I am reading online I am not reading like I would in a book and I do not remember as much as I do when I read a book. I do not believe Google is making us stupid, but I do believe technology in general is making us lazy. When I go online I read the whole article or even know which one is the truth to the question I want answered. So many people can make a website and put whatever they want online. The next article “Is the internet making us Stupid?” By Nathanael Enwald. I agree with something the author put in his article “We’ve all heard the saying; our brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised.” I believe this is so true I like to say if you don’t use it you lose it. I also believe without the internet we appreciated the work we did to find the information for different things. Not that I do not love the internet and the ease of finding my own information but I strive to make sure I am still using my head in other ways so I do not lose what I have strived so hard to get. The last article is “Is Google making us stupid?” by Debate.org I do agree with a lot of what both sides were saying, for instance “it is unfair to blame the base stupidity of the human race solely one the search engine.” I agree it is not Googles fault for anything they have a business and they do a great job with that business. I do agree as well with one comment about “Google keeping us current” I find myself much better informed of all things going on in the world with just a click I can find out when the Queen of England was tweeting her first tweet.
